Description

This pack is full of common core standard problem solving questions to last for a full nine weeks.

This quarter focuses on operations and algebraic thinking & number and operations in base ten. Common Core Standards covered are 2OA1 - 2OA4 and 2NBT1 - 2NBT8. Each standard is listed as the bottom of the problem to help with lesson planning and accountability.

Each week there will be review skills with increasingly difficultly and new standards addresses. Friday is set up as a quiz to be used as formative assessment for students ability to solve problems and think critically about mathematical strategies.

Students are asked to use multiple strategies, prove their work, explain their thinking, and to use mental math to help address the Practice Standards in the common core.

This set works with:
addition
subtraction
two digit numbers
three digit numbers
place value
expanded form
mental math
adding units of 10s and 100s
odd and even
comparing numbers

There is a free sample of week 1 in my store if you would like to try it out. I plan to implement this in my room by making student booklets and using the smart board projector as a teaching tool with the pages as we work through them in class.
