Product Description

These 15 no prep, differentiated math exit slips are just what you need for your second graders to show everything they know about every Geometry.  Math assessment just got a whole lot easier with the included answer key!

What is the focus of this product?

This product was designed to give you a quick and easy assessment for students to use at the end of your lesson.  This will give you a quick check into what they know, and what they still need to work on.

Why is this product unique?

This product is no prep and was built with a busy teacher in mind.  Each ticket is clearly labeled with the standard and level of the ticket.  The tickets only include three questions per ticket, which makes them fast to administer and check.  Four tickets print to a page to save paper; and there is no extra and unnecessary clipart like other products to save toner.  And they are only in black and white, because color ink is expensive!

What do the levels mean?

Every standard has five exit tickets.  Each exit ticket is leveled according to the following scale:

•Level A-Below Level/On Level

•These are super basic questions and skills.  Questions could be fill in the blank, multiple choice, matching, true/false, or open ended.  These questions at this level typically are to the point and very direct; no tricks or misleading questions here!

•Level B-On Level

•These are slightly more challenging than level A questions and skills.  Questions could be fill in the blank, multiple choice, matching, true/false, or open ended.  These questions could include more difficult questions, like questions that focus on exceptions or "not" questions; which most students can get tricked up on.

•Level C-On Level/Above Level

•These are slightly more challenging than level A and B questions and skills.  Questions could be fill in the blank, multiple choice, matching, true/false, or open ended.  These questions could include more difficult questions, like questions that focus on exceptions or "not" questions; which most students can get tricked up on.  This level also introduces some word problems.

•Level D-Error Analysis

•These are my students favorite type of problem.  A problem is presented, along with a solution.  Students will have to determine if the given answer is correct, explain why or why not, and then give a correct answer.  These are set up with common student errors to see who really gets a concept and where students are making the most mistakes.  These are great for teachers to look for misconceptions.

•Level E-Writing to Explain

•These questions require students to solve a problem and then explain their thinking.  These questions could also include giving a definition to a math vocabulary word.

How do I use this product?

You could use these at the beginning of a lesson as warm up, a small group activity, a center rotation, homework, morning work, fast finisher work, or as they are intended-to wrap up your lesson.  This will give you feedback on what students still need to learn before moving on to the next lesson.

Is there any prep required on this product?

Just a quick cut!  Four print to a page; so make your copies, and  head to the paper cutter for two quick cuts!

Is an answer key included?

Yes!  (Please note, there is no written answer given for written explanations, because answers will vary. However, I have included the numerical answer. For example, if the problem was asking students to add 2 numbers and explain their thinking, I have included the sum but not the explanation.)  All tickets are designed to be graded out of 3 points to keep grading easy!
