2nd Grade Math Review
Put a little twist into your spiral review with "Throwback Thursdays."
How is "Throwback Thursday" different than traditional spiral review?
With traditional spiral review many different math concepts containing low rigor are practiced all on one sheet. "Throwback Thursday: is different because it includes vocabulary review necessary to strengthen mathematical understanding, as well as contains questions that are higher in rigor. The questions are geared to review previously taught standards all focusing on a specific area of the Common Core which prepares them for future learning and end of the year assessments.
What is the twist in "Throwback Thursday?"
The twist is music! Get out your old vinyl favorites, youtube videos, or any CD containing your favorite music from the 50's, 60's, 70's... and your class will get up and move, groove, and boogie as they complete Musical Correcting. Musical Correcting is similar to Musical Chairs. The children complete the math paper and then line up around the room. Turn on your favorite oldie but goodie, and they start walking. Stop the music, then they sit in the closest chair and correct the paper at that seat. Math can be fun!
There are 41 pages of math review to cover 41 weeks of "Throwback Thursday," and a cover page.
