This book was written to use for Spiral Review in 2nd Grade. This is the 1st of 6 parts and has enough work to last 6 Weeks and is designed to begin the 1st Week of school.
Remember…This 1st part (sets 1-6) reviews 1st Grade TEKS Part 2 (sets 7-12) will gradually introduce 2nd grade TEKS, and by Part 3 (sets 13-18) will be covering 2nd grade TEKS only.
It should be used in conjunction with the Number of the Day and Problem of the Day—which are included in this product. The next page explains a suggested schedule for implementing each part in 2nd Grade. The Number of the Day page will review 1st grade numbers (through 120) in Sets 1-3. Then beginning on Set 4, 2nd grade numbers will be introduced (through 1,200.)
It was created to be a “Bellwork” assignment, but there are lots of other ways to use it in a classroom. Many teachers use these in Math Work Stations or as Homework.
The problems are not of a HIGH difficulty level and are not in test format They are intended to help give a QUICK review of the basic skills needed.
I like to check the problems with the students shortly after they have completed them, so they get the quick feedback.
If you have any questions, or find an error, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Please download the PREVIEW to see examples of what you are getting as well as to read a better explanation of the suggested schedule.
You can visit my blog at www.topoftxteacher.blogspot.com to get more information on the Problem of the Day with handouts from workshops I’ve conducted.
I believe Spiral Review is a key component of having a balanced, successful math program. I hope you enjoy this product as much as I had creating it!
