This is a Science unit I created using the 2nd Grade Next Generation Science Standards for Relationships in Ecosystems. Included are several activities and experiments to cover all 3 LS standards.
2-LS2-1: The students plan and conduct experiments to see whether or not plants need sun, water and soil to grow. They also get a plant journal to observe the plants.
2-LS2-2: The students will play games and complete simulations that demonstrate pollination and seed dispersal. They will also reflect on them and see if they can design their own simulations/games.
2-LS4-1: Students will research and learn about different habitats. They will take notes about the animals and plants/environment in each habitat and compare them. They will then build a model of a habitat of their choosing. After that, they can demonstrate their understanding by adding animals and plants to a habitat flipbook.
The activities come with everything you will need to create packets/worksheets and most come with reflection pages so the students can reflect on what they learned.
My students love the hands-on aspect of these new standards, so I hope these resources help your students love science the way mine do :)
My Preview shows you an example of 1 of the standards :)
