This zipped file contains 3 weeks worth of problem solving morning work aligned to comply with the new math TEKS for Texas. Students focus on one problem Monday through Thursday, solving it using a different method each day. On Friday, students can practice their math facts independently.
Monday: read the problem, act it out, determine whether addition or subtraction is required, draw a "quick picture" (line drawing of tens and ones) to solve
Tuesday: solve the problem using an open number line
Wednesday: solve the problem using a strip diagram
Thursday: solve the problem using a part/part/whole number bond
The problems contained in this pack include one double digit adding with regrouping and 2 double digit subtracting with regrouping. On the first page of each PDF, you will find the student response sheet that they can use for the duration of each week. On the other pages, you will find the problem, along with a page for each day that you can use for whole group explanation on your interactive whiteboard.
