Product Description
This product is a compilation of 32 Spelling Game Boards that match National Geographic's Reach for Reading Spelling Lists for 2nd Grade. There are four game boards for each of the 8 Unit Spelling Lists. Game Boards include the weekly Skill Words and High Frequency Words.

This includes Spelling Connect the Dots Game Boards for:

Unit 1 Weeks 1-4
Unit 2 Weeks 1-4
Unit 3 Weeks 1-4
Unit 4 Weeks 1-4
Unit 5 Weeks 1-4
Unit 6 Weeks 1-4
Unit 7 Weeks 1-4
Unit 8 Weeks 1-4

These game boards are used for spelling practice via a familiar style game of "connect the dots." I recommend printing them and laminating, or using whiteboard sleeves so these can be used multiple times as a center or fast finisher activity! Happy teaching!

Note:
While you can use these as copies for pairs of two to play, I recommend laminating them or using whiteboard sleeves to reuse with whiteboard markers. You will be able to use them year after year!

Directions: Students will take turns connected two dots together with lines. Each student will have their own color of marker. After connecting two dots with a line, the student reads the two words on both sides of the line they drew. When a word has three lines surrounding box, whoever closes the word in with the fourth line wins the box upon spelling the word correctly within three attempts. They box winner may mark the box with their color, a shape of their choice, or their initials. The box winner gets to make the next line, and turns continue until all boxes are successfully marked by each team.

Goal: My hope is that students will enjoy this “Connect the Dot” game, while practicing reading their weekly spelling skill words and high-frequency words. They will also be practicing spelling them aloud (or spelling on whiteboards if you choose) along the way! Feel free to use your own rules or expectations for students as they enjoy these games! Happy spelling!
