Many teachers are using the ready-made spelling list available on K12reader.com. This is an entire year's worth of word searches using the lists on the site. Each week includes a group of words that follow a specific spelling rule (such as short ea pattern or ft final blend), a group of academic specific vocabulary, and a handful of sight words.
The packet is designed on half sheets of paper to save ink and paper. Each list of words is in a traceable print font to promote accurate handwriting and spelling practice, student trace each word as they find it rather than cross it out. There are also common spelling errors, such as switch first and last letter) embedded in each word find, to help students distinguish the proper spelling.
Watch for supplements to this packet.I'm designing the packet specifically for a student of mine with special needs, so the consecutive packets will cater to the needs of such students, and will incorporate handwriting practice as well as spelling and usage practice.
