This is the first unit in a collection of lessons designed for teaching Numeracy in 2nd Grade and includes over 300 pages of activities and information to teach essential numeracy concepts.
There is a sample lesson plan grid based on several lesson components I have found to be helpful in planning a lesson based on research from The Fundamental Five and my own experience.
This unit is 21 days long if you follow the suggested lesson plan grid.
There are “We will…” Lesson Framing Cards as well as Vocabulary Cards in Kid-Friendly language to use in introducing a lesson. Also included are headers to create class vocabulary anchor charts.
There are ideas for daily closing tasks including many Tickets Out the Door. Weekly Writing Tasks are also given.
The main focus of this math unit is the Lesson component and Assessment Components. Many of the activities can be used for Small Group Intervention and Work Stations as well.
Each topic in this unit has a formal assessment you can use to track your students’ progress on a specific student expectation throughout the unit and to help plan intervention and instruction. There is also a 30 question Unit Assessment to give students at the end of the unit.
Please download the preview to get an idea of what is included, but there is SO much more than I could fit into the preview copy. Feel free to email me if you have any questions or visit my blog at www.topoftxteacher.blogspot.com for more info.
I hope you enjoy this unit with with your students! It’s been a lot of fun creating it.
Please note….You can purchase the TEKS Texas Tornado Spiral Review with Problem of the Day and Number of the Day from my TPT store. They are listed on the sample lesson plan grid to do on a daily basis, but are NOT included in this product.
