Description

Want to make a memorable 2s Day Celebration? I'm so excited to share these twos day activities for kindergarten and first grade. These include literacy and math activities that you can use independently or as centers.

I've made this resource hands-on and fun so that you can keep your students engaged and interested in the activities all day long!

This resource includes:

  • 2s Day Writing so that your students can practice writing.
  • Color - By - Code Sight Words to keep your students engaged.
  • Word Partners Activity for a hands-on literacy center.
  • 2s Day Art for a keepsake or nice piece to hang on the wall.
  • 22 Things Activity that's guaranteed to make the teacher smile!
  • Short and Long Vowels TWOs Game that gets them thinking.
  • Sorting Objects to give them data practice.
  • Number Partners Activity to practice tricky teen numbers.
  • Matching Coins Activity to get them identifying coins quickly.
  • Search and Find 22 Tutus that'll keep them interested and counting.
  • Cut and Paste Partners to find two number sentences to make the same sum.
  • Addition and Subtraction TWOs Game to give them a challenge!

I've included picture instructions with each activity, so you'll know exactly how to use the printable. You can use these instructions to display for centers too!

This uses simple materials that you already have in your classroom. Nothing too fancy! You'll need things like math manipulatives, scissors, glue, and construction paper.

These activities were created specifically for kindergarten and first grade. There are six activities to use for both 2-2-22 and 2-22-22. You can even use these to set up centers for a whole day of fun activities. Answer keys are also included!

Standards

to see state-specific standards (only available in the US).
Decompose numbers less than or equal to 10 into pairs in more than one way, e.g., by using objects or drawings, and record each decomposition by a drawing or equation (e.g., 5 = 2 + 3 and 5 = 4 + 1).
Relate counting to addition and subtraction (e.g., by counting on 2 to add 2).
Directly compare two objects with a measurable attribute in common, to see which object has “more of”/“less of” the attribute, and describe the difference. For example, directly compare the heights of two children and describe one child as taller/shorter.
Recognize and produce rhyming words.
Isolate and pronounce the initial, medial vowel, and final sounds (phonemes) in three-phoneme (consonant-vowel-consonant, or CVC) words. (This does not include CVCs ending with /l/, /r/, or /x/.)
