The 3-2-1 is a great method for developing critical thinking in students. I kept a stack of these copied for quick use in my classroom. They are such an effective tool in helping students make good observations, devolving good thinking skills using that observation, and carrying that thinking on to the next level of questioning. If you are looking for ways to engage your students and stimulate critical thinking, this is one strategy you must use. They are designed to fit into science notebooks/journals.
**For teachers who have students do science fair projects, ask student to keep a list of their wonders they came up with on their 3-2-1 charts throughout the year. These are great questions to complete a science fair project on.
