This product includes THREE complete labs:
1) Make Your Own pH Paper (Cabbage & Turmeric)
Students make pH strips out of purple cabbage and powdered turmeric, in order to investigating the natural pH color changes that occur in fruits, vegetables and plants.
2) Indicators Lab
Students use six different pH indicators to test five known chemicals and two unknown chemicals, determining their pH using only color-changing indicators. This lab includes seven post-lab analysis questions.
3) Molarity of Vinegar Lab
Vinegar (weak acetic acid) is titrated with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) to determine its molarity. This is a classic titration using phenolphthalein as an indicator. The lab includes 5 pre-lab questions and a calculations section.
The first two labs are suitable for students in grades 6-12. The third lab (titration lab) is for high school Chemistry only.
