Students will investigate the 3 branches of government by searching the Constitution for the facts about each branch!

Students will embark on a 3 day investigation into Articles I-III of the Constitution in a group format. Each student will play a different role each day (Senator, Representative, President or Supreme Court Justice) and will assist their team in searching for the facts in their section of the Constitution.
Students get exposure to the actual Constitution but in an approachable format: A student copy of the Constitution (no Bill of Rights in this version) with annotations that make it easy for them to browse. In addition when completing their investigation they will have the help of word keys so they know what to look for.
-Engaging Review Games (example: students stand if the power mentioned belongs to their assigned branch)
-2 scavenger hunts: research current actions taken by each branch and current leaders in each branch
-Links to videos which elaborate on impeachment and executive orders
-PowerPoints which guide the lesson each day (you don't have to look at a lesson plan- its all right there for you) Included in these powerpoints are answer keys which are interactive, making it easy to review activities
-Notes which include: What's inside the Constitution? Introductory investigation, Charts to fill in all facts in a visual format, and tips for how to remember each fact (helpful for students who have trouble keeping track of all the many facts)
