Description

This resource includes eight 3-digit addition and subtraction practice pages in a fun fall theme! I have included worksheets with color and black and white clip art.

This is a great resource for providing a scaffold for your learners as you teach the concept of regrouping to your students, as there are pages without any regrouping, some with a mix of regrouping, and others that are all regrouping.

★Pages 23-26: Adding and Subtracting with Expanded Form mini anchor chart (black and white clip art version)
★ Pages 27-42: 3-digit addition and subtraction pages with answer keys (black and white clip art version)

Please note: The addition and subtraction worksheets are the same for both the color and black and white clip art. I included both so you could choose what works best for you. There are a total of 8 unique addition and subtraction student worksheets, the corresponding answer keys, and 4 addition and subtraction mini anchor charts in this set.

The number sentences on each page are written horizontally with work space beneath for students to show work and solve. Rewriting the problem in the work space allows students to practice lining the columns up correctly.

I teach my students to regroup using the expanded form method before moving on to the traditional algorithm. This method is a natural transition from using manipulatives (base 10 blocks) and has the added advantage of allowing students to practice writing in expanded form. These worksheets allow the extra horizontal space needed in order to solve using expanded form. I have included two bonus pages demonstrating the method for regrouping using expanded form.

If your students are already using the traditional algorithm for addition and subtraction, these worksheets will allow them to practice lining up the digits correctly in the work space.

Thank you!
