3-in-a-row Alphabet Knowledge:
This activity focuses on one letter per page. It will give students practice with identifying the first letter/sound in a word.
How to use:
1- Students will name all of the pictures on the mat.
2-Students will find the three pictures that begin with the target letter/sound that is printed on the top right corner.
3-The 3 pictures that they find must be in a row or they must keep looking for the right ones.
4-The students will color the three pictures.
5-Self-check cards are included. These may be used with struggling readers before they color the pictures.
OPTIONAL: Students will place counters on the three pictures that begin with the target letter/sound. It will serve as a good visual to find the 3 pictures-in-a-row. Then, the teacher may present the self-check card. If all counters are on the correct pictures, the students may color them.
This activity may be used during small groups, center time or as homework.
