I have created 3 projects to get students excited about creating images from scratch.
First, the timeline was created using Google Drawing. Students were given ZERO instructions on the software. They LOVED the freedom and I had excellent projects in the end. (Super easy to use too.)
Second, the Informative Graphic was used to get them to learn to think more critically about placement, size, etc and they had to re-create the image on the handout.
Lastly, the bar chart from scratch again can be used in any program, but they seem to love that THEY get to choose the topics and content.
By far one of their favorite units.
