Product Description
This is a collection of Three Sound Stories for Elementary Music Class. This set includes lesson plans/rubrics and mp3 song files for each of the 3 songs.

First song: "What Would I Do?" - A song about wanting to go play in the rain. Instruct the students to use rhythm instruments of their choice to represent the action of jumping in a puddle, walking in the mud, hopping in the grass, skipping in the driveway and running in the backyard. There is a place to use a rain stick in the song as well. Other students in the class can sing and act out the actions of the song.

Second song - "Going Fishing" - Sound story about going fishing. Students can do the actions of casting the line, tapping their foot, swatting flies, turning the reel and finally making the big catch!! Suggested instruments to add are a guiro for casting out the fishing line, a cowbell for tapping your foot to the beat, a tambourine for swatting flies away, a woodblock for the tug of the line and a ratchet for reeling in your big catch!!!

Third Song - "Five Little Puppies" - A story about five puppies looking for their bone. Students can make sounds with rhythm instruments for the actions while other students do the actions of looking for the bone. 1st puppy looks for bone in the closet, 2nd puppy in the kitchen, 3rd puppy in the trash, 4th little puppy in the tools, 5th little puppy in the bathtub. Kids can play with the rhythm of the “Dig Dig Dig” that is 2 8th notes and a Quarter note. During the instrumental part encourage the kids to do improvisation. There is a 6th part you can add to the sounds. Mommy comes home and gives the puppies all a bone to chew. You can either have the entire class make chewing noises or add one more student to make sounds to represent a chewing sound. I have done it either way and kids love to make the chewing sounds!!
