3-Syllable Words: Speech-Language Activities is a product for students who have difficulty combining syllables to form multisyllabic words The activities are appropriate for children with apraxia or speech sound disorders, as well as students with language delays. Language targets include basic concepts (shape, size, location, calendar) and syntactic structures.
This product includes 25 lessons that target more than 31 different 3-syllable words. The lessons are loosely sequenced from the easiest syllable combinations (e.g., “banana” with reduplicated syllables) to more difficult sound and syllable transitions. Each lesson targets one word through a motivating activity that allows for multiple repetitions at the word, phrase, and sentence levels. Lessons can be used in 1:1 therapy sessions as well as with heterogeneous groups. There are no-prep lessons that utilize common toys/objects, as well as printables. Each lesson also has a follow-up assignment for homework.
The lessons utilize a variety of teaching and learning strategies, including pretend play, art/construction, physical movement, matching, barrier games, story-retells, expository text comprehension, and automatic rapid naming.
Your students will enjoy combining syllables to build 3-syllable words through fun, contextually-based activities.
