Set of 3 foldable mini books meant for note taking (instructions for folding: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=21qi9ZcQVto)
The first mini book is about "Heat" with the following pages:
1)Temperature (define temperature and kinetic energy and respond to and activity where students take the temperature of a (sealed) cup of sand before and after shaking vigorously for 2 minutes.
2)Thermal energy and heat (define both)
3)Conductors and Insulators (define both)
4)Measuring temperature tools and scales
The second mini book is titled "How Heat Moves" with pages on conduction, convection, and radiation where students define, give an example, and sketch each of the types of heat transfer.
The final mini book covers "States of Matter" and changing states. Students must give characteristics of each a solid, liquid, and a gas and draw the particles for each.
There is also space on each page to name the process to get from one state to another. For example: Liquid _____________->Solid where students must write "freezing" on the line.
Not included: Plasma, Bose-Einstein Condensate, or deposition
