My daily routine gets old and repetitive but I like to start class the same way every day. I also want to hold my students accountable for participating in the daily bell ringer. I have created three different bell ringer templates for students to identify the date, the weather, the number of the day, the word of the day, and the question/poll of the day. These templates offer you an opportunity to teach past, present, and future tenses in a realistic context by teaching "today is," "yesterday was," and "tomorrow will be." In addition, students are asked to extend these activities by listing synonyms, doing math, and graphing the results of the daily poll.
