I want to be able to use current videos, songs, and news broadcasts with my class so that my instruction is always fresh and relevant. I want to hold students accountable for reading, thinking, and participating in discussion, however, I don't have time to write questions for every video or listening source--especially when I choose something from current events the day before or the morning of class. I created these three templates to use with any video, song, or listening source. Students are asked to identify the type of source, listen for main ideas, identify key nouns and numbers, list details, and give their opinions. Mix them up to keep students from getting bored or complacent.
