In my district there are thirty school days in November and December. I plan to focus on gratitude with my class and here are the materials I will use.
This packet contains a thank you letter template with directions for the student to complete. Veteran’s Day is during this time and students could write a thank you letter to a veteran they know or a general one for a local veteran’s organization. This could also work for staff appreciation.
I have included more than 30 gratitude quotes and a worksheet for practicing paraphrasing. In addition to discussing a quote a day, students could use these quotes to create a poster, card, bookmark, collage, or some other creative piece. I plan to offer a mix of digital and hard copy projects during the next two months.
Finally there is a pattern for a 30 Days of Gratitude Journal. I made a simple one that can be made when you run the pages back-to-back. There are other ways of creating small journals. Eight pieces of paper, folded in half and stapled together make a 32 page book.
I hope you enjoy these activities with your students.
