These question stems are based on Bloom's Taxonomy, which differentiates between higher order and lower order thinking. These are intended to be used both during and after instruction, to help students reflect on their learning and take responsibility for their learning. These question stems also prepare students for Common Core, in pushing for justification and explanation of thinking processes.

I recommend that you laminate and cut out, and then use a hole puncher to connect with rings, brads, or yarn.
You may wish to use this during whole group instruction, as a part of interactive math journals, in small groups, in centers, as a part of "you choose" time, or as a part of overall differentiated instruction within your classroom. Question stems vary from prompting students to discuss concepts with partners, write in their journals, or go above and beyond to create.
