With new teacher evaluation systems, and with the depth of the Common Core curriculum, it is now especially imperative that you ask your students higher-order questions that make students think critically and make connections. This set of prompts is designed for the teacher. You can cut each prompt individually, laminate, hole punch, and then put a key ring on them to make a little flip book. The prompts are categorized into math (with subcategories within the math), general prompts, and reading prompts.
Each category is color coded. There is a title page with the same color for each category, so it is recommended to print in color. However, if you do not print in color, just make note of which cards go with which title and category before printing. Another option is to put the prompts on popsicle sticks.
This tool is especially useful for teachers who have trouble at times thinking of critical questions, or who forget to incorporate them when teaching a lesson. Simply keep these nearby and flip to a prompt that works for you throughout the lesson. This is also a resource you can add to your evaluation portfolio.
Each prompt is 2.5" by 2.5".
There are 8 general prompts,
8 Common Core aligned reading prompts, and 31 Common Core aligned math prompts. In all, there are 37 prompts plus title pages if you want to make a miniature book.
These work best for grades 3-7
