This item has a weekly math assignment for 37 weeks!!
These assignments are great to hand out on Monday and have them due at the end of the week (Thursday or Friday). They can be used in addition to the regular daily work you assign.
Each assignment has 20 problems. That is 740 problems!
The concepts are spiraled throughout, so review is constantly occurring.
The assignments coordinate to the 8th grade math TEKS in Texas, but they can be used for other grade levels.
Calculators may or may not be used depending on your teaching style.
The rubric on the page allows the students to see what they are held accountable for.
The justifications make the kids put into words what was done in order to solve the problem. Complete sentences require the students to use ELA skills. Skill problems may only require a one to two sentence justification. Word problems should have a minimum of three sentences:
What the student did.
Why the student did it.
What the answer is.
The answer key matches to the assignment numbers printed on the weekly assignments. The answers are designed for the students to check their own work. After you verify the format has been correctly followed, let them check it, so they can see the problems they miss. Many problems have a range of answers provided.
A separate document is provided in which the assignments can be rearranged to match your scope and sequence. All you will need to do is write in the assignment number.
Again, this follows the 8th grade TEKS, but you it can be used for other grade levels.
