Can shape identification be boring? You bet! With a game like 2D Bump, it doesn't have to be!
Bump is a cooperative learning game. This can be played with 2-4 players. Students take turns spinning the spinner using a paper clip and pencil. Students start with 10 cubes- Unifix or some stacking cube works best. Students take turns spinning and placing their cube on the shape they spun.
A student can build a tower of 2 cubes to prevent getting bumped. How do they get bumped? If another student rolls the same shape and no tower is built.
The game is over when students finish their 10 cubes.
In this resource. there is a shape check sheet for students to self correct.
This can be used whole group, small group, math centers, or fast finishers.
