I use this foldable to reinforce the concept of 3-space in a tangible way. The planes are labeled for ease of assembly. The first octant is labeled. You will need scissors, glue stick or cellophane tape, and a little bit of time.
We also discuss that when a point is on a plane it only needs two pertinent coordinates as its location. What happened to the third coordinate? How do you write an ordered triplet without having 3 numbers? We also use the plane labels to name the octants.
