This PDF file can be used as a lesson presentation for students, or as a teacher's guide. The step-by-step photo visuals make this a great download for substitute lesson plans as well.
During this lesson students will learn about symmetry as they sketch a honeybee by building their drawing with simple shapes. Students will copy their sketch to shrink film to create a 3D honeybee. Using famous illustrators as inspiration, students will create a marker drawing background of a flower garden, emphasizing variety of color and shape. Last, students will connect their honeybee to their drawing to finish the project.
This PDF is a variation of the 3D Butterfly project, so the assessment worksheet and the symmetry essential question slides are the same.
