Product Description
3D Shapes Build & Learn, Search & Sort, Think & Write Pack **Differentiated**

This 3D shapes packet is designed to help students actively learn about solid shapes.

Two “Build and Learn” nets are included for each of the following shapes:
• cone
• cube
• cylinder
• rectangular pyramid
• triangular pyramid
• pentagonal pyramid
• triangular prism
• rectangular prism

For each shape, one of the nets has basic vocabulary on each face. The other net shares more complex information. These shapes are easiest to build when a thick paper, such as tagboard, is used. To assemble the shapes just cut, fold along the lines, tuck the tabs in and tape or glue.

Eight sorting activities are offered in order of increasing complexity.

Two versions of a “Write the Shape” sheet are included. The first one includes six 3D shapes and the other includes eight 3D shapes.

Three pages prompting students to answer questions about 3D shapes and explain their thinking are included. (These questions can be used as discussion prompts with students who are not yet ready to read and respond to the questions independently.)

A 3D shapes fact sheet and a 3D shapes fill in the blank sheet are included in this set. Students can use the “Build and Learn” 3D shapes they have built as a resource to fill in information about each shape. I like to use the fill in the blank sheet as a note-taking form. (The fact sheets are designed for students who are able to read the vocabulary associated with 3D shapes.)

24 task cards are also included. These cards can be used as discussion questions with younger students, or for Scoot games with students who are able to independently read vocabulary used in discussing 3D shapes.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look!

Sincerely, Anne Gardner (NBCT, Literacy)
