Description

This printable resource includes fun, hands-on 3-D shapes sort learning centers and pocket chart cards. You will have multiple ways to introduce, review, practice, or assess 3 dimensional shape recognition in the environment and visual discrimination skills.

You'll receive 3-D shape sorting mats and real-world picture cards (3 cards for each shape) to use in learning centers or small groups as well as pocket chart header cards that can also be used with the real-world picture cards. Place the headers in your pocket chart and have students sort the picture cards under the correct heading.

Mix and match the shape sorting mats and real-world picture cards for differentiated and targeted practice.

You can have students sort the real-world picture cards according to "is the shape" or "is not the shape" OR they can sort them according to individual shapes. For example, sphere or cube (please see the preview file for pictures of each).

This resource also includes a black/white ink-saving version which is perfect for take-home practice or individual use.

Includes the following 3-D shapes:

  • sphere
  • cube
  • cylinder
  • cone
  • pyramid
  • rectangular prism
  • triangular prism

A fun way for your students to practice recognizing three-dimensional shapes in the environment and for you to easily assess their shape recognition mastery. Perfect for small group or whole group instruction, math centers, assessment, morning work, extra practice, etc!
