This resource gets your students thinking about the properties of 3D shapes and using geometric vocabulary, by identifying and drawing the correct 3D shapes from the clues given to them on the task cards.
This resource includes:
•Minds-On Task – this page can be used as a diagnostic, entrance slip, or a full group introduction to the task. I like to do this page with the whole group, projecting it so all can see, then letting the students work on individual whiteboards or their notebooks to answer the task.
•12 Task Cards – these task cards make a great math station or partner activity. Students will stretch their brains as they read through the clues to identify and draw the correct shape. You can project each card and have students work on whiteboards for a full group activity. Or, you can have a math station set up with the task cards and have students answer on the provided recording sheet for an easy formative assessment for you.
•Answer Page – students can self-check their answers during math stations, or you can use the page for more formal checks.
