-Use the Say It! Place Mat to have student:
1. Listen to a partner read aloud statement written on a Task Card (see sample of task card) in order to place each digit in the correct place value (see Say It! Place Mat).
2. Practice writing the number in word form.
3. Say the number aloud while partner listens carefully to determine if the student wrote the number on the Task Card correctly.
-Your students will enjoy hole punching the number of the Task Card they completed correctly on their Say It! PUNCH CARD (see sample).
-You can laminate or use a protective sheet to have students complete the three steps on the Say It! Place Mat.
There are four colored coded Task Cards:
Task Cards 1 - 4 are 3 digit numbers
Task Cards 5 – 8 are 4 digit numbers
Task Cards 9 – 12 are 5 digit numbers
Task Cards 13 – 16 are 6 digit numbers
-have students use a Place Value Chart to help them write the digits in the correct place value.
-hand students a list of numbers written in words to help them correctly spell the number in word form.
