In this interactive, hands-on activity with a fun detective/P.I. theme, students will gain a deep understanding of place value in a fun game format by:
-rolling dice to create a unique number
-saying number out loud
-creating number using base blocks on place value mat
-writing number in expanded form
-writing number in word form
-discussing and interacting with partner
-drawing a card and naming the number in given place value

I teach this game and then use it as a math center independent rotation. You may also use this game whole group.
