Description

Do you need a way to easily organize your guided math groups, lesson activities, and data? This guided math binder makes it easy to create guided math groups, plan your differentiated lessons, and track student performance throughout your unit. Student data sheets and guided group lesson templates are included for each 3rd grade CCSS. Individual student sheets allow you to keep track of student performance on all standards on 1 double sided sheet of paper. It's perfect to send home to keep families in the loop on how their student is performing during class since so much of guided math assessment is teacher observations.

SAVE TIME! - Each CCSS for 3rd grade is already typed in for you. Type your student names once and they will automatically fill in on every page. Just hit print and you're set for the whole year! Teaching standards not listed? There is a blank version of each sheet so you can write in the standards you need.

What's Included: Every 3rd grade CCSS standard has the following sheets:

  • Growth Sheet - Record pre/post assessment scores for all students on one sheet so you can easily see who to group together.
  • Group Planning Sheet - Write who's in which group, the skill level of the group, and what activities you will do with the different skill levels.
  • Recording Sheet - Write down scores of student performance during different small group meetings and activities. There's also a spot to write down your own notes on each student.

Why I love it: I love teaching my small, differentiated guided math groups. However, I realized I needed a way to organize my groups, activity ideas, and record my observations to better plan for future lessons. This binder has everything in one place. I can flip to the standard I'm teaching, record their pre-assessment data, make my groups and lesson plans, and then as I teach each day I can record students' progress towards mastering the standard.

Tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. Solve word problems involving addition and subtraction of time intervals in minutes, e.g., by representing the problem on a number line diagram.
Measure and estimate liquid volumes and masses of objects using standard units of grams (g), kilograms (kg), and liters (l). Add, subtract, multiply, or divide to solve one-step word problems involving masses or volumes that are given in the same units, e.g., by using drawings (such as a beaker with a measurement scale) to represent the problem.
Draw a scaled picture graph and a scaled bar graph to represent a data set with several categories. Solve one- and two-step “how many more” and “how many less” problems using information presented in scaled bar graphs. For example, draw a bar graph in which each square in the bar graph might represent 5 pets.
