This set of task cards is designed to engage your students by having them demonstrate their ability to find area and perimeter while stimulating their own creativity. Each card will be interpreted differently by each child, thus producing different results each time a card is used.
Each card is a design plan for a different robot. Dimensions for each body part are given and students must use grid paper to design a robot with body parts that match the given perimeter or area measurement. There are 10 half-page cards in this set, along with a set of instructions for use. This little set of cards will make a wonderful hallway display or something fun to use when wrapping up a perimeter/area unit in math. They work well as partner activities as well.
So that you will better understand the concept of this set, please download the sample. You will find sample cards along with student examples (completed by my third grade neice). Enjoy!
