Description
This no prep 3rd grade daily math practice is ideal for morning work or daily math review. It includes 180 days (4 quarters) worth of warm-ups, enough for all year.
Throughout the year, skills students have already practiced show up again for a spiral review. The math skills are scaffolded, starting easier and getting progressively more difficult as the year progresses. Supports are in place throughout the morning work to help students be able to complete the morning work / math review both independently and successfully.

Every day, students will answer a math question from each of the 5 Common Core math domains for 3rd grade, as well as a challenge question. The questions are scaffolded and build on each other each week.
Throughout the year, students will focus on the following math skills:
Operations and Algebraic Thinking
- patterning (one step, two step, in/out tables, more)
- multiplication (groups, repeated addition, arrays, skip counting)
- division
Number and Operations in Base 10
- adding and subtracting using a number line
- number lines

- rounding to the nearest 10 and hundred

Number and Operations - Fractions
- numerator vs. denominator
- shading fractional pieces
- fractions equivalent to 1/2
- comparing fractions
- fractions on a number line
Measurement and Data
- finding the perimeter, finding an unknown side length
- measuring the area by counting units, by multiplying
- drawing shapes with a given perimeter or area
- measurement word problems (elapsed time, volume and mass, graphs)
Geometry
- triangles, pentagons, hexagons, octagons
- quadrilaterals (squares, rectangles, trapezoids, parallelograms, rhombuses)
- parallel/intersecting lines
- right angles
- symmetry
- partitioning shapes
