Hello friends, and welcome to weeks 4 through 6 of our fantabulous 3rd Grade Morning Work Series: ELA Edition!!
If you've already checked out weeks 1-3
, then you already know that we're serving up high-quality original reading passages, reading comprehension questions, analogies, vocabulary AND grammar practice! If you're new to our morning work, however, you are in for quite a treat. Let's jump in!
How We Break It Down:
* Rocket Into Reading
-We provide a daily original and engaging reading passage and questions that address many of Bloom's Taxonomy levels of comprehension.
* Word of the Day
-On days 1,2, and 3 we introduce and define a vocabulary word. We also provide an example sentence and space for your budding wordsmith to demonstrate mastery by constructing their own sentence.
* Awesome Analogies
-On days 1,2, and 3 we define what an analogy is and provide an example. Students are given two analogies to complete in multiple-choice format.
* Sentence Surgery
-On days 4 and 5, students are given two sentences that they must rewrite using proper capitalization, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
* Word Workshop
-On days 4 and 5, this section will have students complete grammar activities such as parts of speech, verb tenses, and comma usage.
* Answer Key
-Time is money (or rest, or quality time with your family, or really whatever you want to spend it doing), so we always include answer keys for the teacher-on-the-go!
* Print in color for best results
* Consider printing front and back for green points
* Continue shopping at the 88Brains store ;)
* Keep being awesome!
