Foundations of Number. This unit is about place value to the 100,00. Students will learn about the magnitude of numbers to 100,000 as they explore the relationships in the Base-10 System. They will compose and decompose numbers with concrete manipulatives- base 10 blocks and place value disks, pictorial models including the number line, and expanded notation. Students will compare and order whole numbers to 100,000. This unit is scheduled for 8 days.
I have broken down each TEK into Learning Targets to make it easier to track student progress. A student data sheet is included for students to reflect on their own learning for the unit.
Each day contains objective, learning targets, materials, whole class teaching activity, guided math activity and closure with an exit ticket and answer key for most days.
Whole Class teaching in this unit contains:
Games in this unit are included:
This unit is designed to print and go! I keep mine in a binder. You can put each day and all of the materials for that day in one sheet protector.
I hope this unit helps you get started with Guided Math!
