What skills are included in this bundle:

  • Place Value- This includes number forms such as standard form, word form, expanded form, and expanded notation. It also requires students to decompose numbers in different ways using the base 10 system through the hundred thousands place
  • Place Value Relationships- patterns of the place value system through the hundred thousands place
  • Comparing and Ordering Whole Numbers - Comparing numbers and ordering numbers up to 100,000, and representing comparisons with symbols <, >, or =
  • Rounding Whole Numbers- understanding the scale of the number line, finding the midpoint, plotting a given number, and then using that information to determine which number line boundary it's closest to. Students are learning why rounding works!

Use place value understanding to round whole numbers to the nearest 10 or 100.
Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
Recognize that in a multi-digit whole number, a digit in one place represents ten times what it represents in the place to its right. For example, recognize that 700 ÷ 70 = 10 by applying concepts of place value and division.
Read and write multi-digit whole numbers using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form. Compare two multi-digit numbers based on meanings of the digits in each place, using >, =, and < symbols to record the results of comparisons.
Use place value understanding to round multi-digit whole numbers to any place.
