### Description

This product includes both an interactive place value chart as well as activities (digital and printable) that will allow your students to practice skills pertaining to number sense with the 3rd grade Georgia Standards of Excellence and Common Core Standards.

This hands-on resource will allow students to create numbers, manipulate numbers, compare values of numbers as well as digits and see different aspects of the place value chart, and line up digits.

See preview for more detail. The interactive place value chart can be customized to meet your grade level as well as the level of your students. Add more pieces of it to expand the value of your place value chart and incorporate more skills such as comparing.

Skills Covered

• 3.NBT.1 Rounding
• 3.NBT.2 Addition and Subtraction

What You Get:

Digital Activities

• 18 Google Slides Activities
• Tutorial Videos for Rounding Whole Numbers and Decimals using the Interactive Place Value Chart
• Answer Keys for all activities

Printable Activities

• 18 Printable Activities
• Teacher-led activities
• directions, various versions for practice (whole numbers and decimals), recording sheets
• Student-led partner activities
• directions, various versions for practice (whole numbers and decimals), recording sheets

Students will practice place value, rounding, adding and subtracting.

How You Can Use the Activities:

Face-to-Face Instruction (in the classroom)

If you (the teacher) are conducting a whole group or small group lesson, have students take turns creating their numbers on a large interactive smartboard. As a student works on the smartboard, other students can work on their own devices at their seat.

Digital Instruction

If you are teaching remotely/virtually outside of the classroom, this activity can be done:

- live in whole group or small groups during a Zoom Meeting or Google Meet

• Assign the slides to each student in the class and have them pull their copy up on their device. You can pop into their slides to check their progress as they work
• Assign one copy of the slides file to the class (do not make a copy for each student) and let students take turns on just one place value chart (this could be a bit overwhelming with many students in the same file, but could work in smaller groups

- as an assignment

• Create an assignment in Google Classroom (or any other compatible platforms that work with Slides) and have students complete the activity and turn it in

Digital Place Value Chart

You will receive the following place value variations:

• hundred millions to thousandths
• millions to thousandths
• hundred thousands to thousandths
• hundred millions to ones
• millions to ones
• hundred thousands to ones
• thousands to ones

Each of the place value charts listed above comes in the following formats:

• single place value chart with x10 and /10 symbols
• double place value chart with x10 and /10 symbols
• single place value chart without x10 and /10 symbols
• double place value chart without x10 and /10 symbols
• double place value chart with comparison option

Printable Place Value Chart

You will receive the following:

• Place value places from hundred billions down to thousandths (I use two sets to compare two different numbers)
• Number A and Number B signs to allow for digit value comparisons (5.NBT.1)
• Numbers to be used on the board (make as many copies of each number as you need)
• Arrows with x10 and ÷10 to show the increase and decrease in powers of ten as you move across the chart
• Place Value Title
• Individual Student Place Value charts so that they can work at their own desks while another student is using the large chart.
• Teacher-led activities
• directions, various versions for practice (whole numbers and decimals), recording sheets
• Student-led partner activities
• directions, various versions for practice (whole numbers and decimals), recording sheets

There are 4 sets (ones to hundred millions, ones to hundred billions, thousandths to hundred millions, thousandths to hundred billions). EACH set includes:

• a single page with one place value chart with and without labels
• a page that includes 3 place value charts (you cut these into strips and can get 3 students' charts from each page - save paper!) with and without labels
• a page with two sets of place value charts for comparison of numbers and digits with and without labels
• a page with two sets of place value charts with a comparison statement (>, <, or =) on the bottom with and without labels)

You will also receive a simpler place value chart that will show each place's name along with its value in both whole number, decimal, and fraction form.
