This pack includes a comprehension activity, a vocabulary activity, and two grammar activities for the concept of the week- sentence combining with adjectives and adverbs.
Comprehension Activity: This is a great activity for students to complete as they are reading the story for the week. It ensures they are following along and comprehending the story as they go.
Vocabulary Activity: This activity has the students take the vocabulary words from the week and apply them to their own lives. They write, draw, list, etc. to demonstrate understanding of the word meanings.
Sentence Combining with Crawling Critters: Students write an adjective sentence. Write a verb sentence about the critter, then combine both sentences into one sentence.
Combining Silly Sentences Writing: Students draw one animal, one adjective and one predicate sentence. First, combine the animal and adjective together into one sentence (ex. bird + angry = The bird was angry). Next, combine the animal and predicate together into one sentence (bird + bought a new dog = The bird bought a new dog). Then, combine the animal, adjective, and predicate all into one sentence (ex. bird + angry + bought a new dog= The angry bird bought a new dog.) Finally, fill in the title with your last combined sentence (ex. The day that the angry bird bought a new dog). Then write a short story (at least 5 sentences) about the situation written in your title. Be sure to add a picture at the top when you are finished!
