PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

This pack includes a comprehension activity, a vocabulary activity, and two grammar activities for the concept of the week for each story.

Boom Town:
Comprehension Activity: This is a great activity for students to complete as they are reading the story. It ensures they are following along and comprehending what they are reading.

Vocabulary Activity: This activity takes the vocabulary words from the week and has students apply it to their own lives. They draw, write, and list to demonstrate understanding of the word meanings.

Common and Proper Noun Go Fish Game: Students play go fish while matching a common noun to it's proper noun.

Proper and Common Noun Cupcake Sort: Students cut out the frosting containing a proper noun. They paste it onto the cupcake with the corresponding common noun. The students will not use all of the frosting pieces.

Home Grown Butterflies:
Comprehension activity: These questions are great guiding questions for students to complete as they are reading the story for the week.

Vocabulary Activity: This activity takes the words from the week and has students apply them to their own life to demonstrate understanding.

Singular/Plural Maze Craze: Determine whether the noun in each box is singular or plural, color accordingly and discover a path to get through the maze.

Singular/Plural Noun Sort: Circle the form of each noun that belongs in each sentence. then cut out the squares and paste accordingly depending on whether the singular or the plural form is needed

Singular/Plural Hidden Picture: Circle the correct form of each noun needed for each sentence. Color the square accordingly reveal a letter of the alphabet. Write a singular and a plural noun beginning with the letter revealed.

Irregular Plural Nouns I have, who Has: Whole class I have who has game. Pass out the cards. Start with one student. Have the students keep reading as their card is up. Finished when you get back to the person who started. Time the students to make it a race!

Irregular Plural Nouns Whole Class Activity: Pass out the pumpkins; have students color them and cut them out; Paste the wooden signs on the left hand side of a big piece of green paper. have students paste their pumpkins in the correct row based on their rule of change

Pairin' Up Possessive Noun Phrases: 3 column activity; write down a noun in column one; write down another item in column two that can be owned; in column three, combine the first two columns into a possessive noun phrase

Author's purpose PIE activity: Kids write down their favorite flavor of pie in the middle circle. they then write a persuasion writing trying to convince other people to like that flavor. They write down an informative writing about what that kind of pie is. They then write down a funny story or entertaining story meant to entertain the reader.

Castle on Viola Street:
Comprehension Activity: Great activity for students to fill out as they are reading the story for the week. This helps ensure that students are following along and comprehending what they are reading.

Vocabulary Activity: This activity takes the vocabulary words of the week and has students apply them to their own lives to demonstrate understanding.

An Interview with my Classmate (combining sentences with nouns): Students interview a partner about the things they like. They write two separate sentences about each (Bob's favorite food is spaghetti. Bob's favorite food is pizza.) Then they combine the two sentences into one (Bob's favorite foods are spaghetti and pizza.)

Window Shopping Sentence Combining: Students pretend they go to the toy store with their family. They fill out two separate sentences about the things they bought ( Mom bought a teddy bear. Mom bought a rubber duck.) Then they combine the two sentences into one (Mom bought a teddy bear and a rubber duck.
