In color and black and white. Perfect for math workshops all year round to reinforce the facts. Like the Sequence game, it's never the same game twice!
What you’ll need:
A copy of the playing board for each set of 2 partners (2-sided and laminated is preferable)
Multicolored playing pieces (at least 2 different colors)
How to play:
The objective of this game is to get 4 hearts in a row.
Decide who starts. Player 1 place 2 tokens on 2 of the addends below (2-9). Tokens can put them on the same term. The player uses mental math to find the sum and then places one of his colored pieces on the correct sum (heart)
Player 2 can now move ONLY 1 of the addend tokens. That is, from now on, players can change one of the numbers being added but not the other.
Player 2 chooses his 2 addends and then places his piece on the sum.
The game continues in this fashion, with players trying to prevent the other from making a sequence of 4.
