Lesson 1: Analysis of Opening scene & exposition.
Lesson 2: Analysis of plots & sub-plots.
Lesson 3: Analysis of specific and significant scene interpretation.
Lesson 4: Analysis of closure with a complete film analysis paragraph fill in.
Each lesson ends with a short writing prompt that has scaffolded instructions for students to analyze what they viewed. The final lesson uses a specific cinematic element (just as a writer would use a literary device), students explain the purpose, evidence from the film, reflect and comment on how it influenced the audience, add additional film/textual evidence, further commentary, and a final sentence of closure. Lessons 1-3 build thorough different pieces of the film analysis paragraph, building on one another to create the final product by lesson 4.
