This includes 4 visual multiple choice quizzes that address the common core in the following areas: inferences, main idea, using evidence from the text when explaining events, academic vocabulary, and text features. The text features questions challenge students to think of how the information contributes to their understanding of the text. The text passages include scientific, technical, and historical texts. This is an assessment, but it can also be used to present and practice with the whole-class. Most importantly, the questions use mostly higher level thinking strategies.
