This lesson was created for ESL students, but I have found that is also works well challenge my English only student because they can really focus on incorporating adjectives and adverbs and/or using more advanced syntax.
This lesson plan enables students to practice the English language and improve their writing while learning about caring for and vaccinating cattle. Students review a set of four images displayed out of chronological order and with their partner discuss how the sequence the events could have occurred. Once the images have been reordered correctly the students tap into their prior knowledge by sharing content specific vocabulary. The teacher will scaffold by introducing new terms when necessary. Throughout the lesson there are opportunities to challenge the students to improve their syntax to construct meaningful and interesting sentences. Ultimately, students are becoming quality writers and proficient speaker of the English language.
The lesson includes a materials list, vocabulary list, procedures, examples, tips, extensions, and sample photographs in two sizes. It is eight pages long.
