Teacher will give the students the book cover and the students will trim the excess edges. Before attaching the cover to the second page of their flip book, students should cut each sentence type apart, stopping their cutting at the vertical line. These cuts will create the flaps for their books. Once this step is complete, students will glue the cover to the second page on the left margin that has not been cut. Students will add a written definition and original sentence to demonstrate their understanding of the 4 sentence types. A key has been included for the teacher to refer to, knowing that student responses may vary.
