(You must have or be able to show "Ocean's Eleven") This is a lesson/activity that teaches students about the 4-step problem solving method and how to use it. The 4-step problem solving method is a method that can be applied to any real life problems and typically used on word problems in mathematics. The main purpose of this activity is to increase student engagement and buy-in for using the method. This document includes the following:
1. Description and Introduction - This is a detailed description of each of the 4-steps of the method and how you would use them.
2. Movie questions - A series of questions that ties specific movie scenes with each of the 4 steps of the problem solving method.
3. Movie question key - general key and description of scenes.
4. Homework - A worksheet with word problems set up to be solved using the 4-step problem solving method.
