This sort includes the transformations of reflections, rotations, translations, and dilations.
The students must organize the pictures into the columns provided. Then they must be able to describe the movement in basic terms (flipped over y-axis, move 3 units up, etc.) Then they must describe how x and y changed from the pre-image to the image. Cards are provided for all of this.
I gave this to my students before we ever discussed the coordinate changes and they came up with the rules themselves.
*Note: use the last 2 pages to cut the sorts out. You may want to label some of the points so they are more clear to lower students. Differentiation is easy by providing hints on the sort cards and clarification of what is meant by "description #1" and "description #2"
