PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

Students will practice identifying the four types of sentences: declarative, interrogative, exclamatory, and imperative sentences during this activity.
Students must determine the type of sentence in
order to correctly decide if each sentences ends
with the correct punctuation mark. It is ideal for
stations, centers, or small group time, as it
encourages discussion about the content. I have
found the different types of sentences to be a
difficult common core standard for my first grade
students. Students will have fun during this activity, while they apply the skill of identifying types of sentences.

CCSS.ELA - Literacy.L.1.1.J Produce and expand complete simple and compound declarative, interrogative, imperative, and
exclamatory sentences in response to prompts.

This activity includes: 24 sentence cards, sorting
mats, recording sheet, and student directions.
